Shubman Gill will lead India in the test series against England.
The Indian Cricket Team have started their preparations for the upcoming test series against the England Cricket Team. During India’s tour of England 2025, both teams will clash in five test matches. The opening encounter will be played at Headingley in Leeds from June 20.
Shubman Gill has been named as the new skipper of India in tests by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The 25-year-old will be joined by deputy Rishabh Pant for the campaign against England. With the ouster of senior members Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of them have a huge responsibility on their shoulders in the batting and leadership departments.
Notably, the Indian Cricket Team showed a wonderful form under skipper Virat Kohli during their previous tour to England in 2021. The visitors drew the series 2-2 and completely dominated the hosts in two games at Lord’s Cricket Ground and The Kennington Oval.
