Asia Cup 2025: Blow for India! Shubman Gill cops a blow on the hand ahead of Pakistan clash - Reports

Indian Cricket Team are all set for their next clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan Cricket Team, which will be played on Sunday, September 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Ahead of the match, the Men in Blue faced an injury scare as Shubman Gill was hit on his hand during the training session on Saturday (September 13).
As per a reports in the Times of India, after getting hit, Gill looked in discomfort and walked off the nets with the team physio rushing to attend to him. He was seen sitting on the ice box while holding his injured hand.
All the attention turned towards him with head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav checking on him. Opener Abhishek Sharma was also seen helping him as the team physio continued to monitor him. However, in what was a positive development, the right-hander resumed his training after some time.
Shubman Gill played a vital innings of 20* against UAE

Notably, Gill has taken the opening slot for India in the tournament alongside Abhishek Sharma. In the last game against the UAE, the duo set a 48-run stand for the opening wicket. Gill scored an unbeaten 20 runs as India crushed the UAE by nine wickets in the encounter.
Indian bowlers did a wonderful job, bundling out the UAE for just 57 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube clinched four wickets and three scalps respectively, with the former winning the Player of the Match award.
Their next challenge will be a tough one as Pakistan, led by Salman Agha, also kicked off the tournament on a winning note, defeating Oman by 93 runs. The Men in Green posted 160/7 in the first innings and later bundled out Oman for just 67 runs.
India, Pakistan, the UAE, and Oman are clubbed in group A in Asia Cup 2025. Top two teams from the group will qualify for the Super Four round.
