Shubman Gill will be present at the Wimbledon 2026 semi-final on July 10.

India’s star-batter and two-format captain Shubman Gill has been one of the fastest rising athletes in the country. He is merely 26 years old but has already made his mark in the international arena.

Gill leads the Indian Men’s Cricket Team in the One-Day and Test formats. He embarked upon his international cricket journey in 2019, but truly announced himself in 2021. He was also the Player of the Tournament in the U19 Cricket World Cup 2018.

Shubman Gill was announced India’s Test Captain in May 2025, ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He was the Player of the Series for scoring 754 runs in that tour, and drawing the series in England 2-2. He broke many records with the bat, including the highest score by an Indian captain in England (269).

Recently, Gill was in action against Afghanistan in June, for a three-match ODI series. He will be featuring in the ODI series against England coming up from July 14. Another news from England that adds a feather in his cap, is the invitation he has received to attend the Wimbledon 2026 semi-final.

The Wimbledon 2026 semi-finals are being played on July 10. The 1st semi-final is between Arthur Fery and Alexander Zverev, while the second high-octane clash is between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.

As reported by PTI, India’s captain, Shubman Gill has received an invitation to attend the Wimbledon 2026 semi-final from the prestigious Royal Box. He joins the elite list of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma; becoming the fourth Indian Captain to have received such an invite.

Gill has achieved many laurels at such a young age of 26. He has been scoring heaps of runs for the country since his debut, and has also broken many records in international cricket.

He is the youngest double centurion in ODI cricket history, has been named BCCI Cricketer of the Year twice, and is currently ranked second in the ICC’s Men’s ODI batting rankings.

Shubman Gill is set to play three-match ODI series against England starting from July 14. Following this series, will be a tour to Sri Lanka for two Test matches in August.
