Shubman Gill IPL century: Cricketing fraternity reacts to milestone on social media

Shubman Gill brought up his maiden century in the IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 56 deliveries.

It was all about Gujarat Titans‘ textbook batting in the first innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Titans opener Shubman Gill kept his rhythm going in the IPL 2023 and smashed his first-ever IPL century. Shubman Gill with a pull shot off T Natarajan in the 19th over brought up his first-ever IPL and his 3rd T20 century in his career. In the same innings, he also became the first-ever batter to complete 1000 runs for Gujarat Titans. Gill has been scoring against SRH bowlers all around the park at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Gill took 56 balls to reach his century. He smashed 13 fours and a six in his innings.

With his textbook and controlled innings, Gill has earned praise from everyone on social media. Many fans and players have enjoyed the class shown by Shubman Gill. Gill started aggressively, Gill with 6 fours in 16 balls added 36 runs in the power play. Everyone was in full praise of Gill for not hitting a six yet scoring with more than 200 pus strike rate. Few fans have also claimed that Narendra Modi Stadium has become a fortress for Shubman Gill. He is now number 2 in the orange cap race after his brilliant century.

Gujarat Titans started poorly as their opener Wriddhiman Saha lost his wicket early in the first over against Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After his wicket, Shubman Gill took charge of the inning along with Sai Sudarshan (47). They both added 147 runs in 14 overs. They both smashed only 2 sixes in their partnership. The Titans’ middle order has failed massively and they have lost 3 wickets in 3 overs after the partnership of Gill and Sudarshan. Shubman Gill also departed on 101.
