Simon Doull quashes claims of him feeling unsafe and facing mental torture in Pakistan

A few days ago, a few reports came in, which claimed Simon Doull was feeling unsafe and faced mental torture in Pakistan after his statement on Babar Azam.
Former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull has clarified the rumours regarding his comments on his experience in Pakistan relating to captain Babar Azam. The cricketer-turned-commentator has revealed that the derogatory statements against the sub-continent nation weren't by him and has urged to stop spreading hatred.
A few days ago, a fake account claiming to be Geo News cited Doull as saying that he suffered mental torture during his commentary stint in the latest edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after making some comments about Babar.
The 53-year-old has come forward and conceded he loved his time in Pakistan and criticized the social media accounts for spreading fake news for their agenda.
"It’s sad when so-called news channels publish false stories that are made up from fake social media accounts. Please note: Absolutely None of this is true. I loved my time in Pakistan and also love my time in India. Stop the hatred and vitriol towards one another, please. And stop publishing this for your own agenda you sad people.”
What did Simon Doull comment about Babar Azam?
The statement from the fake account erupted after his comments against Babar on air during the PSL 8 game between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. With the right-hander taking 14 balls to reach from 83 to 100, Doull questioned the skipper's lack of intent at the wrong time.
"Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that's all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still, so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first."
Zalmi went on to lose that game by eight wickets with ten balls to spare. The New Zealander once again landed in hot waters for condemning Virat Kohli for showing lack of intent during Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL 2023 clash against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
