After losing the three-match T20I series 3-0 against the Indian cricket team, hosts Sri Lanka have made a stellar comeback in the ongoing ODI series. In the opening fixture, both sides played a thrilling clash and the match was tied on August 2 in Colombo.

In the second ODI on August 4, Sri Lanka put up a respectable total of 240/9 in 50 overs after Avishka Fernando and Kamindu Mendis scored 40 runs each. While chasing, Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored quick fire 44-ball 64. But the day belonged to the spin duo of Sri Lanka: Jeffrey Vandersay and skipper Charith Asalanka.

Vandersay blew away the Indian batting line-up with a six-wicket haul in his 10-over spell. Skipper Asalanka also dismissed three Indian batters, which helped them win the second ODI by 32 runs and take 1-0 lead in the ongoing three-match series in Colombo.
