The day two of SL vs IND 1st Test saw India adding over 170 runs to their total.

Both India and Sri Lanka had their moments on day two of the first Test at Galle International Stadium in Galle on Sunday. On a rain affected day, India batted the entire day but also wickets in clusters.

The first session on day two was washed out due to rain. However, when the game resumed, India, batting at 288 for two, had a decent start to the day. Devdutt Padikkal (167) continued with the same focus and went on to hit 150.

Rishabh Pant (39) couldn’t add much to his overnight score of 27 but he along with Padikkal added 71 runs for the fourth wicket which took India past 300 runs. KL Rahul (82), who got retired hurt on 77 on day one, came to the crease after Pant’s wicket; however, he too couldn’t add much.

Sri Lanka kept taking wickets at regular intervals, but it was Dhruv Jurel (51), who hit a valiant half-century, and ensured that Sri Lanka didn’t take the front seat. Manav Suthar (24) also played a decent hand as India ended day two at 460 for nine.
