The SL vs IND second Test in Colombo is heading towards an exciting end.
The fourth day of the second Test between Sri Lanka and India saw both teams having their moments. In what was another rain-affected day at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, India ended Sri Lanka’s first innings on 290, earning a lead of 213 runs. However, Sri Lanka came up with a decent comeback in their second innings.
Sri Lanka started day three at 265 for eight, trailing by 238 runs but they couldn’t avoid follow-on as debutant Saransh Jain picked up the two remaining wickets quickly. The hosts could manage 290, falling just 13 runs short of avoiding follow-on as they ended up with a deficit of 213.
The start of their second innings for Sri Lanka was a poor one as Lahiru Udara fell for just three. However, Kamil Mishara (32) and Pasindu Sooriyabandara (92) made up for the early loss and added 58 runs for the second wicket.
After Mishara got out, Kamindu Mendis (55) supported Sooriyabandara brilliantly as their partnership put India under pressure. The Sooriyabandara-Mendis duo shared 115 runs for the third wicket; however, both lost their wickets at a crucial juncture of the game as India made a comeback.
Captain Dhananjaya de Silva (23) had a start but couldn’t carry on for long, but his innings allowed Sri Lanka to take a lead. The rain then played its part as umpires were forced to take early stumps. Sri Lanka ended the fourth day at 229 for six, leading by 16 runs.

The action on the last day of the second Test between Sri Lanka and India will begin at 9:45 AM IST/local. The first session will be followed by a 40-minute lunch break between 12 and 12:40 PM IST.
The second session will run from 12:40 PM to 2:40 PM IST. Following that, there will be a tea break, which will last 20 minutes. The last sessions on Day 5 in Colombo will start at 3:00 PM IST and will last until 5 PM IST. There will be an extension of half an hour also to make up for remaining overs.
