SL vs IND 2024: Most runs, most wickets after 3rd ODI, Colombo

Sri Lanka won the three-match SL vs IND ODI series 2-0.

Debutant Riyan Parag’s stunning spell helped India restrict the hosts Sri Lanka for 248/7 in 50 overs in the must-win final match of the three-match ODI series in Colombo on August 7.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sri Lanka’s Avishka Fernando played a superb knock of 96 runs in 102 balls and missed a well-deserved century when he got dismissed by debutant Riyan Parag.

Wicket-keeper batter Kusal Mendis (59 off 82 balls) and Pathum Nissanka (45 off 65 deliveries) helped the hosts reach above the 240-run mark.

For India, debutant Riyan Parag took three wickets, whereas Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Mohammed Siraj bagged one scalp apiece.

While defending the target of 249 runs, left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage dismantled Indian batting line-up. Wellalage bagged five wickets and also took two giant wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in his match-winning spell.

Apart from him, Maheesh Theekshana and Jeffrey Vandersay also picked two wickets apiece as hosts clinched the match by 110 runs. For India, skipper Rohit Sharma (35), Washington Sundar (30) and Virat Kohli (20) were the top scorers for their side.

With this victory, Sri Lanka won the three-match ODI series 2-0 and registered their first ever ODI bilateral series win over India in last 27 years.

SL vs IND 2024: Most Runs

Indian captain Rohit Sharma concluded the three-match SL vs IND ODI series as highest run-scorer. He scored 157 runs in three outings. Sri Lankan batter Avishka Fernando finished second with 137 runs. His teammate Dunith Wellalage is positioned third with 108 runs.

Sri Lanka’s wicket-keeper batter Kusal Mendis ended up fourth with 103 runs. Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka finished fifth with 101 runs.

Sri Lanka’s star spinner Jeffrey Vandersay was the highest wicket-taker in the SL vs IND three-match ODI series. The leg spinner bagged eight wickets in just two outings. Dunith Wellalage is slotted second with seven scalps to his name.

Sri Lankan spinner Charith Asalanka finished third with six wickets to his name. The Indian spin-duo of Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav ended up at fourth and fifth spots with five and four wickets respectively.
