As per weather report on Day 2, the conditions are expected to be cloudy in the morning with some rain expected. There are chances of 73% rain in the morning, which is likely to decrease to 25% in the afternoon. Some more showers are expected in evening as the predicted precipitation is around 25% with 95% cloud cover.
The weather forecast on day three is not good either. There are chances of 45% rain in the morning; however, it will gradually decrease as the day progresses. The sun is expected to come out after 11:30 PM but chances are rain are also there, though there are less than 50%.
However, the fans will be hoping to see the entire match played without much interruption. The Indian side cannot settle for a draw, and they need to win both of these Test matches to stay alive in the hunt for a top-two spot in the WTC points table.
India have the upper hand, as they have won eight and drawn two of their last 10 matches against Sri Lanka. However, the last time Sri Lanka defeated India in a Test match was at Galle back in 2015.
