India lead the two-match SL vs IND Test series by a margin of 2-0.
The Indian Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka Cricket Team are up against each other in the second Test of the two-match Test series. The match between the two teams is underway at the Sinhalese Spots Club in Colombo.
India are 1-0 ahead in the series, having won the opening game of the series by a massive margin of 165 runs. The second SL vs IND Test holds great importance for them as a win here will help them to climb the ladder in ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka would be keen to avoid the series defeat, and stage a comeback after loss in first Test. However, things haven’t their way in the second match as India have been extremely dominant with bat and ball.
Opting to bat, the Shubman Gill-led side posted a mammoth total of 503 runs on the back of centuries by Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel. Captain Gill and Rishabh Pant also hammered half-centuries. After that, the visitors were spot on with the ball as Sri Lanka lost four wickets inside 150 runs.

With day three of SL vs IND Test underway, Indian fans would be eager to know the weather forecast for the remaining days. India are aiming for a clean sweep to fancy their chances of qualifying for the WTC final by finishing at the top of the WTC points table.
However, the forecast suggests that rain could remain a recurring threat throughout the remainder of the Colombo Test. Day 3 on Tuesday, 25th of August, is expected to bring cloudy conditions with mild showers during the morning and afternoon sessions.
There is an approximately 67% chance of rain in the morning, and it will drop to 56% in the afternoon. The likelihood of heavy downpour will increase on the 4th day, as the probability of rain will remain at 49% throughout the day.
Therefore, India should aim to score as many runs as possible in the first innings to put pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen in overcast conditions.
The final day, however, promises better conditions than Day 4. The Test match is scheduled to run until August 27, so adverse weather could impact the number of overs bowled. A draw in the game due to bad weather might cause a massive blow to India’s WTC campaign.
