Smriti Mandhana hammered a century off just 50 deliveries vs Australia Women in 3rd ODI.

India Women’s Cricket Team opener Smriti Mandhana has scripted history with her century during the third WODI against Australia Women’s Cricket Team on Saturday, September 20. The left-handed batter registered the fastest century for her side in ODI cricket off just 50 deliveries.

She broke her own record of fastest WODI ton by an Indian batter, which she achieved against Ireland Women in January 2025, off 70 balls. During her innings against Australia Women, Mandhana scored 125 runs off 63 balls, smacking 17 fours and five sixes.

Moreover, Mandhana’s ton in 50 balls is also the second fastest century in Women’s ODI cricket with Australia’s Meg Lanning grabbing the top spot with her ton off 45 deliveries. Mandhana registered her 13th century in ODI cricket, equalling New Zealand batter Suzie Bates’ tally.

Talking about the match, Australia Women set a gigantic target of 413 runs for India Women. Opting to bat first, Beth Mooney (138) scored a spectacular century to power the team to a mammoth total.

Georgia Voll (81) and Ellyse Perry (68) scored crucial half-centuries as Australia Women finished with 412/10 in 47.5 Overs. During the encounter, Beth Mooney also scripted the record for the joint third-fastest century in Women’s ODI cricket off 57 deliveries.

During the chase, India Women lost opener Pratika Rawal cheaply for 10 runs. However, Mandhana slammed a ton to provide a solid start to the team. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (52) also scored a half-century. Later, Deepti Sharma (72 off 58) and Sneh Rana (35 off 41) also contributed with the bat.

However, India Women lost the game by 43 runs as they were bowled out for 369.
