Smriti Mandhana’s wedding postponed indefinitely after father suffers heart attack

Smriti Mandhana was to marry music composer Palash Mucchal in Sangli.

Due to an unexpected and upsetting family situation, the much-awaited marriage ceremony between Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed.  

While getting ready for the wedding at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli, Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, had a heart attack, according to Tuhin Mishra, Smriti’s business manager.

In front of intimate relatives and admirers in Sangli, Maharashtra, Smriti and Palash were scheduled to exchange vows on November 23. During the wedding festivities, Smriti was accompanied by numerous members of the Indian cricket team that won the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025

A number of images and videos of the couple’s Bollywood-style pre-wedding celebrations have been posted on social media in recent days. The couple, their friends, and family organized a lavish festive extravaganza that included a colorful Haldi and Mehandi ceremony as well as friendly cricket matches between the teams led by the bride and groom.

Several of Smriti’s teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, Shivali Shinde, and Richa Ghosh, were present to celebrate the occasion.

Srinivas Mandhana, the father of Smriti Mandhana, was brought to the hospital after suffering a heart attack during the wedding preparations. After learning the news, Smriti Mandhana and her immediate family hurried to the hospital, according to people close to the family.

A tiny bit of comfort during this trying time is provided by the family’s statement that Mr. Mandhana’s condition is stable and being monitored.

“Smriti Mandhana’s father was not feeling well since this morning. He was rushed to a hospital in Sangli, and he is currently under observation while various tests are being conducted,” Mandhana’s manager stated.

The wedding management formally notified the media that the ceremony scheduled for today has been canceled. When the wedding celebrations will start up again is unknown.
