A total of 14 Pakistani players were shortlisted for The Hundred 2026 Auction.
On March 12 (Thursday), the Hundred 2026 auction took place at Piccadilly Lights in London. This was the first ever auction in this tournament’s history, making it a historic moment. The auction for the women’s tournament was held on March 11, followed by the auction for the men’s edition on Thursday.
All 8 men’s participating teams went into the auction with a budget of a £2.05 million salary cap after direct signings and retentions. More than 700 men’s cricketers registered for the auction, and 243 were shortlisted to come under the hammer.
This list included some of the biggest names like Joe Root, Aiden Markram, Trent Boult, and Faf du Plessis. Each team had a limit of 14-16 signings in total. James Coles, the 21-year-old spin all-rounder, broke all records and became the most expensive player at the auction.
Lord’s-based London Spirit signed him for a whopping £390,000 (approx. INR 4.81 crore). Jordan Cox (£300,000) was the next on the list, bought by Welsh Fire, whereas MI London bought veteran all-rounder Tom Curran for £260,000.

Just like other countries, Pakistan also had several players registering for the Hundred 2026 auction. Notably, there were some rumours that with Indian-owned franchises joining the tournament, there wouldn’t be any bet for Pakistani players.
However, there were a couple of Pakistani players who fetched good deals at the Hundred 2026 auction. A total of 16 players from Pakistan were shortlisted for the auction. This list included two women’s cricketers, Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal, with a base price of £15,000 each.
These two women’s cricketers were unsold. Apart from them, 14 men’s cricketers were part of the auction, including top names like Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Amir, and others. However, only two of the 14 men’s cricketers found a deal at the auction.
Sunrisers Leeds were the first team to sign a Pakistani player. They signed Abrar Ahmed for a price of £190,000 (INR 2.34 crore). The second Pakistani player to be picked was Usman Tariq for a price of £140,000 (INR 1.72 crore) by Birmingham Phoenix.
All the other stars were unlucky and featured in the unsold list. However, Pakistan’s ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was registered with a base price of £100,000 in the Tier 1 Fast Bowlers category, withdrew from the auction.
