Sonny Baker claimed a hat-trick in the clash against Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2025.

Manchester Originals pacer Sonny Baker came up with the magical effort with the ball during the game against Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2025. He picked a hat-trick and became the first player to achieve the feat in this season of England‘s franchise T20 league.

Manchester Originals, led by Phil Salt, clashed with Northern Superchargers in the 17th match of the tournament on Sunday (August 17). Batting first, they piled up 171/3 in the first innings, with unbeaten half-centuries by Jos Buttler (64*) and Heinrich Klaasen (50*).

Later, they bundled out Northern Superchargers for just 114 runs in the second innings, winning the encounter by 57 runs. Pacers Josh Tongue and Sonny Baker clinched three-wicket hauls for the team, while Rachin Ravindra and Noor Ahmed took two scalps each.

Pacer Baker picked a hat-trick in the encounter to help his team bowl out Northern Superchargers. The right-arm pacer dismissed Dawid Malan in the 50th delivery. Later, he dismissed Tom Lawes and Jacob Duffy in consecutive deliveries to complete three wickets in three balls. Have a look at the video below.

Meanwhile, Buttler was adjudged as Player of the Match in the encounter. Manchester Originals registered their second victory in the tournament. Out of five games, they have won two matches and lost three encounters. With eight points, they grab the fifth spot in the points table.

On the other hand, Northern Superchargers occupy the third spot in the points table with 12 points, winning three games and losing two matches out of five encounters. Oval Invincibles occupy the top spot in the points table.

Manchester Originals will face Trent Rockets in their next match in The Hundred 2025. The encounter will take place on August 19 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
