Sourav Ganguly turned 53 years old on July 8.
On July 8, Tuesday, former India captain Sourav Ganguly turned 53 years old and celebrated his birthday with some young fans. Ganguly is one of the batting legends of the Indian Cricket Team and represented the national team from 1992 to 2008.
The left-handed batsman is the third-highest run-scorer in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. In 311 ODIs, he scored 11,363 runs at an average of 41.02, including 22 tons and 72 fifties.
He also played 113 tests for India, scoring 7212 runs at an average of 42.17. With a top knock of 239, Ganguly slammed 16 centuries and 35 half-centuries in tests. He retired from international cricket in 2008.

The former India captain celebrated his 53rd birthday with his young fans in Kolkata. A group of young fans organised a cake-cutting ceremony for the batting legend. The video of the moment went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Have a look at the video below.
On his birthday, many cricket fans also wished him on social media. Some former cricketers and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) members wished him on X. Ganguly was the BCCI president from 2019 to 2022.
Meanwhile, Ganguly recently returned from England. He was present at Edgbaston Stadium during the recent second test between India and England. He also watched Shubman Gill’s double century live at the stadium with his wife, Dona Ganguly.

Ganguly, who led the team in 146 ODIs and 49 tests, is known as one of the successful captains for India. He led India to the joint ICC Champions Trophy title in 2002 and the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
