South Africa will lock horns with England in match No. 20 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Mumbai.

South Africa started the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a record-breaking performance against Sri Lanka, when they registered the highest total in the history of the World Cup. Then they thrashed Australia in Lucknow after scoring another big total. But then they came against Netherlands and lost the momentum badly.

South Africa suffered an upset, and people started thinking once again about their "chokers" tag. But they can bounce back once again in the next game. South Africa will be playing against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. So let's check out the predicted playing XI for South Africa against England.

ENG vs SA: South Africa's predicted playing XI vs England

1. Quinton de Kock (wk) :

Quinton de Kock will be the most important wicket for South Africa. He started the tournament with two consecutive hundreds but failed in the last game, and the whole team got all out. That is the impact of the left-hander. De Kock has played in IPL for MI and will be aware of the conditions, and we might see him score big on Saturday.

2. Temba Bavuma (c) :

Temba Bavuma is looking like a weaker-link in this strong batting-unit. He has been struggling with form, he has scored 59 runs in three innings, and has looked rusty. His team will feel pressure from that, and the captain will look to make the most of the next opportunity.

3. Rassie van der Dussen :

Rassie van der Dussen started with a brilliant hundred in the opening game against Sri Lanka but had two low scores after that. He has scored 138 runs in three innings and is an impactful player with the bat. A batting average of 55.88 tells the same story. Van der Dussen will be looking to play long and add some important runs for his team.

4. Aiden Markram :

Aiden Markram is the man around whom the whole middle-order revolves in South Africa. He is in the best form of his life and started the tournament with a 49-ball ton, breaking many records. He will be expected to deliver something similar this time around so that South Africa can get two important points and beat England.

5. Heinrich Klaasen :

Heinrich Klaasen is the X-factor for South Africa because he can change the situation of the game in a span of a few overs. Klaasen is also in form and has played some brilliant cameos in the last few months. England should worry about him because he can single-handedly take the game away from them.

6. David Miller :

David Miller is the most experienced batter in this line-up, and his role is also the most difficult and important. The left-hander is a match-winner who is among the best finishers in modern-day cricket. Miller missed the chance in the last game, but he will look to make an impact against England and take his team to victory.

7. Marco Jansen :

Marco Jansen has played well with the bat, but with the ball, he has taken important wickets. The left-arm pacer has taken six wickets in three games and is always among the wickets in the powerplay. He can rip through England's batting-order and can be lethal when it swings. But he will also be hoping to add some crucial runs because South Africa have only six specialist batters.

8. Kagiso Rabada :

Kagiso Rabada will be the biggest threat for England with the new ball. England will heavily depend on their top-order batters and will have to face Rabada. Rabada is the highest wicket-taker for his country and has taken seven wickets in three innings. He will be looking to add a few more in Mumbai.

9. Keshav Maharaj :

Keshav Maharaj had a brilliant game in the losing cause against Netherlands. He picked up 1/38 and scored 40 runs with the bat. But his role will be to take wickets in the middle-overs and also restrict the batters from scoring big runs. Maharaj can exploit the spin from the pitch, which can be a hurdle to cross.

10. Gerald Coetzee :

Gerald Coetzee will be another challenging bowler who is always in the face of the batters. That is what makes him a player to watch out for. He is good with the new and slightly old ball and can hit big shots, as shown in the last game. But he will have a big responsibility to pick up some important wickets in the middle and help his team dominate.

11. Lungi Ngidi :

Lungi Ngidi had an off day in the last game and went for runs. But he is as good as any other bowler in this tournament. He gets extra bounce because of his height, and the pitch in Mumbai will be very helpful for him. Ngidi can trouble the batters with his pace and tricks. He has taken four wickets so far.
