South Africa Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Fixtures, Dates, Venues

South Africa will kickoff their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against Canada on February 9.

The complete schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2026 was released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, November 25. A total of 20 teams will tackle each other in the tournament, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

The 20 teams will be spread across four groups in ICC T20 World Cup 2026, with each pool having five teams. In the group stage, each team will lock horns with the other opponents once. The top two teams from each group will move into the next round. South Africa are one of the 12 teams that earned a direct qualification to the next year’s T20 World Cup.

Notably, South Africa have never won the ICC T20 World Cup title so far. In the last edition, they gave a stunning performance by reaching the final. However, despite a wonderful show in the summit clash, they lost to India by seven runs in a nail-biting encounter.

Aiden Markram is the current captain of South Africa in the shortest format. Since he led Proteas to the final in the last edition, he is expected to captain them in ICC T20 World Cup 2026 as well.

South Africa Cricket Team were the runners-up of the previous edition of the tournament and are placed in Group D along with New Zealand, Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada. South Africa will play their first three games of the tournament in Ahmedabad against Canada, Afghanistan, and New Zealand. Later, they will clash with UAE on February 18 in Delhi.
