South Africa have qualified for Super 8 round of T20 World Cup 2026 from Group D.
After winning their first three games of T20 World Cup 2026 in a row, South Africa have qualified for the Super Eight round. Proteas are placed in Group D in the 20-team tournament.
The Aiden Markram & Co. won their opening game against Canada by 57 runs like a walk in the park. Their second clash against Afghanistan was a nail-biting encounter, where the Proteas eventually won in the second Super Over.
In their third clash against New Zealand, the Proteas won by seven wickets to become the first team from their pool to qualify for the Super 8. They have one more game left against UAE in the league stage.
In the Super 8, the T20 World Cup 2024 runners-up are placed in Group 1. They will play their first game against India on Sunday, February 22, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be the 43rd match of the tournament.
Later, they will lock horns with West Indies in the 47th match on February 26, which will also take place in Ahmedabad.
Their third and last match will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on March 1, which will be the 51st match of the T20 World Cup. The opposition for the match is yet to be ascertained.
