South Africa will begin their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign against Sri Lanka on 7th October in Delhi.
In pursuit of their maiden World Cup championship, South Africa will kick-off their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 journey with a match against Sri Lanka at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. Following a disappointing performance in the 2019 edition, where they secured the 7th position among 10 teams and managed only 3 wins out of 9 league matches, South Africa are determined to turn their fortunes around.
Despite participating in 8 previous editions, South Africa have never reached the finals. With a schedule spanning 9 league games spread across 8 diverse venues, including two matches at Wankhede Stadium, South Africa are poised to make a compelling bid for victory in this major cricket tournament.
South Africa to play WC games in 8 different venues
South Africa will be travelling to 8 World Cup venues to play their league games. Of 10 World Cup venues, only Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore will not be hosting South Africa’s games. South Africa will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi and will finish their league stage at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against the Afghanistan.
When and Where to buy South Africa cricket team’s game tickets?
The International Cricket Council has revealed the process for fans to secure tickets and be part of the monumental cricket event. Starting August 15th, fans can register to obtain their tickets, with the actual sale commencing on August 25th. For South Africa’s matches, ticket bookings will also open on August 25th. ICC will soon provide information on the platforms where fans can purchase their tickets.
