SRH's full schedule for IPL 2026: Know match dates, timings, venues & more

Pat Cummins will lead SRH in IPL 2026.

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) schedule was announced recently. The upcoming season will start on March 28. In the opening match, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in what will be an action-packed clash.

The last season did not go well for SRH. Pat Cummins and Co. finished sixth in the points table, despite a star-studded line-up. Now they would like to start this new season on a winning note.

After the highs of the 2024 season, where they finished as runners-up, SRH’s last season was an overly underwhelming one by the standards of the Men in Orange.

Big names like Travis Head, skipper Pat Cummins, big-money retention Henrich Klassen, and Indian pace battery Mohammed Shami all performed below their expectations.

At the time of the auction, coach Daniel Vettori said that he hoped that retaining key players would help the team move forward and perform better. They only managed 6 wins throughout the campaign and lost 7 matches. With Cummins and Vettori at the helm, SRH’s strategy has always been to go full throttle.

This is where Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled last season. Unlike 2024, where openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head provided blistering starts, both struggled to make the same impact. New signing Ishan Kishan started the season on a high note but then drifted apart.

As for the bowling, Pat Cummins and Co. leaked runs throughout the season as Mohammed Shami failed to have an impact with the ball. Harshal Patel and Zeeshan Ansari, though, had good seasons, and SRH management will hope to count on them in the upcoming season.

Apart from this, SRH have added additional firepower to their squad by signing star English all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who was part of the RCB squad last season.
