SRH vs MI: Players to wear black armbands as mark of respect for Pahalgam victims in match No. 41 of IPL 2025

There won’t be cheerleaders and fireworks as well during match No. 41 of IPL 2025, SRH vs MI.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to lock horns with each other in match No. 41 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The players from both sides will wear black armbands as a mark of respect for the Pahalgam victims. The encounter will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad – the home ground of SRH.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued an official statement to inform that the cricket fraternity will pay homage to the victims of the terrorist attack in Kashmir. The incident, that took place on Tuesday afternoon, has shocked the entire nation. Hence, RCB and SRH players, support staff, match officials and commentators will also wear black armbands during the match.
Captains to pay tribute to Pahalgam victims during toss of SRH vs MI game
Captains of SRH and MI – Pat Cummins and Hardik Pandya – will pay homage to the victims and condemn the attack at the toss. Also, a minute of silence will be observed at the start of the match by players of both teams, umpires, and match officials. Even spectators present inside the stadium will be asked to participate in the tribute.
Commentators have been told to inform the SRH vs MI match viewers about the deadly terrorist incident in Kashmir during the tribute process. Moreover, cheerleaders will be absent from the match and no fireworks will take place ahead of the start of the game.
Talking about the terrorist attack, a group of four terrorists attacked the tourist city of Pahalgam in Kashmir. They opened fire at about 500 tourists at around 2 PM on Tuesday, April 22. About 20 people are feared dead and 15 have been injured in the deadly attack.
According to words from the survivors, the victims were killed upon being asked their religious identity.
