Only two Sri Lankan batsmen have scored more than 10,000 runs in test cricket.
The Sri Lankan cricket team has a rich history of legendary batsmen. In particular, since the 1990s, the Island Nation has produced some of the all-time greatest batsmen.
Having made their test debut in 1982, Sri Lanka have recorded 104 victories in 319 test matches so far, their win percentage of 32.60 being better than the likes of West Indies, India and Pakistan.
As much as their success is the result of terrific bowling performances from Muthiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath and Chaminda Vaas, the Sri Lankan batsmen also have made hefty contributions to their test cricket. In this article, we will look at the top five Sri Lankan test run-scorers.
