Sri Lanka announce Men's and Women's cricket squads for Asian Games 2023

Sri Lanka named Men's A side, while a full-strength Women's side for Asian Games 2023.
The 19th edition of the Asian Games (Asian Games 2023) is all set to start on September 19. The coming tournament will see a competition in 40 different sports, which will run until October 8. This tournament will also see cricket played between September 23 and October 8. Both Men's and Women's cricket competitions will be played in the Asian Games 2023. This cricket tournament will be played in the T20I format.
All the matches will take place at Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng cricket field. Women's competition will take place between September 19 and 25 while the Men's competition will be played between September 27 and October 7. The cricket tournament will clash with the coming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, which is why India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be sending their second-string Men's teams.
Sri Lanka announce cricket squads for Asian Games 2023
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) announced the squads for Men's and Women's competition on Monday. The Men's team will be lead by Sahan Arachchige, who was included in the Sri Lankan squad for the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Notably this will be the first time since 2014 that cricket will return to Asian Games. Sri Lanka, along with India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will start their campaigns from quarterfinals.
Lasith Croospulle, Shevon Daniel, Ashen Bandara and some other domestic performers are part of the Men's squad. The Men's team will play their first game on October 4 against the qualifier. Meanwhile, the Women's team will play their first game on September 22.
Sri Lanka's Women's team will be by Chamari Athapaththu. The Women's team has big names in it that are part of the international setup for quiet a long time. It has the players that recently played ODI series against England's Women's team.
