Sri Lanka schedule for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 - Timings, dates, venues and all you need to know

Sri Lanka are placed in Group A of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 3 to October 20. Australia women, who have won last three editions of the tournament, will defend their title again.

Originally, the tournament was slated to be played in Bangladesh, but due to nationwide protests in the country, the ICC decided to shift it to the UAE. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) still have the hosting rights of the tournament.

The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will see a total of 10 teams take part in the tournament. The 10 nations are divided into two groups of five each. Each side will play a total of four group stage matches in their respective groups. The top two sides from each group will advance through to the semi-finals.

The Sri Lankan women’s cricket team will be high on confidence after clinching the Women’s Asia Cup title earlier this year defeating India in the final. The Island Nation will be aiming to lift their maiden ICC T20 title in the upcoming tournament.

Sri Lanka are placed in Group A along with Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan.

Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland

Sri Lanka schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024:

Sri Lanka will kick off their campaign against Pakistan in Sharjah on October 3. They will then meet defending champions Australia in Sharjah on October 5.

Dubai will host Sri Lanka’s third group-stage fixture against India on October 9. Their final league stage match will be against New Zealand in Sharjah on October 12.
