ENG vs SL: Sri Lanka announce 18-man squad for the upcoming three-match test series

The first test match between England and Sri Lanka will start on August 21 in Manchester.
The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming away three-match test series against the Ben Stokes-led England on August 7. Dhananjaya de Silva will lead Sri Lanka in the upcoming exciting series against the Three Lions.
The SLC has named wicket-keeper batter Kusal Mendis as vice-captain for this series.
After performing well in the ongoing white-ball tour against India, Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka has been included in the test side for the England tour.
Apart from Nissanka, the SLC has also named Nishan Madhushka, Sadeera Samarawickrama. Veteran cricketers Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal have been also added to strengthen their batting line-up.
In this squad, Jeffrey Vandersay, Ramesh Mendis and Prabath Jayasuriya are the frontline spin bowling options for the Sri Lanka cricket team with captain Dhananjaya De Silva in support. The pace bowling attack consists of Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara, and uncapped pacers Nisala Tharaka and Milan Rathnayake.
Six of these 18 squad members have already flown to England to begin their preparations.
