Charith Asalanka to lead as Sri Lanka name 16-member squad for T20I series against Bangladesh

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play three T20I matches.
Sri Lanka Cricket, on Monday, July 7, announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh Cricket Team. Charith Asalanka will lead the hosts during the three-match T20I series, which will start after conclusion of the ODI series.
The opening T20I game will be played on July 10 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. The second match will be played at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla on June 13. The series will conclude with the last encounter on July 16 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
A few days ago, Bangladesh revealed their squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. They dropped Najmul Hossain Shanto from their squad for the T20I series. Litton Das, who was appointed as T20I skipper earlier in May, will lead Bangladesh in the T20I series.

Charith Asalanka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Dasun Shanaka, Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Chamika Karunaratne, Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara, Binura Fernando, Eshan Malinga.
Notably, Sri Lanka are hosting Bangladesh in a multi-format series. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the two-match test series 1-0. The first test ended in a draw, but Sri Lanka won the second match by an innings and 78 runs.
The three-match ODI series is currently tied at 1-1. The hosts won the first ODI by 77 runs, however, Bangladesh made a comeback in the second game and won by 16 runs. The third ODI will be played on Tuesday, July 8 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele.
