Sri Lanka Cricket Team warm-up fixtures for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
Sri Lanka had to play the ICC World Cup Qualifiers to get into the main draw.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the World Cup warm-up games’ final schedule. The competition will feature 10 warm-up games spread over three Indian venues starting on September 29.
The warm-up matches will be played across four days: September 29, September 30, October 2, and October 3. Three cities will host the ten games: Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati. The ten games are divided across the three cities as follows: four in each of Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram and two in Hyderabad.
Each participating team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will play two warmup matches.
Sri Lanka’s World Cup 2023 Warm-up games:
Sri Lanka qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023 after defeating the Netherlands in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe in July. They will play in the World Cup as Qualifier 2, and before the main round, the Dasun Shanaka-led side will engage in two warm-up matches.
The playing conditions for the World Cup allow teams to field all 15 members of their squads during the warm-up matches since the games won’t carry ODI status.
The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host both the warmup matches of the Sri Lankan team, which will be played on September 29 and October 3rd. Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh in their first warm-up game and then clash with Afghanistan in their second warm-up fixture.
