Sanvir Singh was dismissed for a golden duck during the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 between KKR and SRH.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 1 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata’s veteran off-spinner Sunil Narine bowled a stunning delivery that castled Sanvir Singh’s at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Pat Cummins-led SRH started their innings on a poor note as they lost four wickets – Travis Head (0), Abhishek Sharma (3), Nitish Reddy (9), and Shahbaz Ahmed (0) -inside the first six overs.

However, Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen stabilized the innings with a blistering 37-ball 62-run partnership. In the 11th over of the first innings, Klaasen departed after scoring 32 crucial runs as Hyderabad reached 101/5.

In the 14th over of SRH’s innings, there was a mix-up between Tripathi and Abdul Samad, leading to Tripathi getting run out. He scored 55 runs off 35 balls.

After Tripathi’s dismissal, Hyderabad sent Sanvir Singh as their Impact Player, substituting opener Abhishek Sharma, in the 14th over of the first innings.

KKR off-spinner Sunil Narine, who was bowling the 14th over of SRH’s innings, dismissed Hyderabad’s Impact Player for a golden duck.

In the third ball of the over, Narine bowled a classy off-break delivery that spun sharply into Sanvir. He leaned ahead tentatively to counter it but left a big bat-pad gap. The ball deflected off his pad and crashed onto the stumps.
