"Everyone is…"- Suryakumar Yadav's daunting message to Pakistan after India's thrashing win over UAE in Asia Cup 2025

Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field first in the encounter against the UAE.

After an impeccable victory against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their opening game of Asia Cup 2025, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav said that the team is excited for the next game against Pakistan. The Men in Blue outplayed the UAE by nine wickets to start their campaign with a huge victory.

India won the toss and opted to field first in the match. With brilliant teamwork in bowling, they bundled out the UAE for just 57 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav picked a fabulous four-wicket haul, while Shivam Dube clinched three wickets to dominate the UAE batters.

Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel got one scalp each. Later, India chased the 58-run target in just 4.3 overs with an opening stand of 48 runs by Abhishek Sharma (30) and Shubman Gill (20*). Kuldeep was adjudged Player of the Match for his incredible bowling show.

During the post-match presentation, Suryakumar heaped praises on bowlers for their wonderful teamwork and opener Abhishek Sharma for giving a quick start to batting. He also said that they are excited for the next clash against Pakistan.

“Here it is very hot right now and Kuldeep did well, got good support from Hardik, Dube and Bumrah. He (Abhishek Sharma) is currently the World number one batter for a reason, he sets the tone, irrespective of if we chase 200 or 50, unbelievable from him. Everyone is excited for the game against Pakistan,” he said.

Speaking on opting to field first in the match, the Indian captain said that they wanted to get an idea about conditions.

“Wanted to see how the wicket was playing. It was the same in the 2nd innings. Clinical performance from the boys, we wanted good attitude and energy on the field and that’s what we got. Recently lot of the boys were here for the Champions Trophy, the wicket looked good but it was on the slower side and the spinners have a role”, he said.

Meanwhile, India will clash with Pakistan in their next game of Asia Cup 2025 on September 14. The arch-rivals will face each other at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

India have moved to the top spot in the Group A points table after the victory. They have two points in their kitty, while the UAE have dropped to the last spot after the defeat. Pakistan and Oman are part of the same pool in the tournament.
