Indian Cricket Team T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is putting in the hard yards to make his comeback ahead of Asia Cup 2025. As per a report in the Times of India, it is learned that the right-hander will take another week to regain his full fitness.
Suryakumar Yadav recently underwent a sports hernia surgery in June, and since then, he has been working hard in his recovery process. Since the last few weeks, he has been at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, making sure he gets fit ahead of Asia Cup 2025.
The Indian T20I captain also has resumed batting and recently shared a video on social media, in which he was seen exercising and running to build his workload towards complete fitness, giving a hint that he will be there for Asia Cup 2025.

Suryakumar Yadav will be a key member for India in Asia Cup 2025. Ever since he took on the leadership role in the format, he has been sensational. The batter has led from the front and has slammed truckloads of runs, helping teams win crucial games.
Asia Cup 2025 will be his first major tournament as a skipper, and he would be keen to make a mark. A total of eight teams will be taking part in the event, and Suryakumar will be keen to help his team defend the title, which they won in 2023 by beating Sri Lanka in the final.
Suryakumar was last seen in action during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Mumbai Indians batter had his best season in the league as he mustered 717 runs and ended as the second-highest run-getter in the league, helping his team reach the playoffs.
Under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership, India have won 17 games out of 22 matches. Asia Cup 2025 begins on 9th September with the final scheduled to be played on 28th. The games will be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
