Major update on Suryakumar Yadav & Hardik Pandya’s availability for RCB vs MI clash of IPL 2026

Suryakumar Yadav led MI in Hardik Pandya’s absence in the previous game.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their next match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter will be played on May 10 (Sunday) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

Mumbai are on the brink of elimination and need to win all of the remaining games to book a berth in the playoffs. Their qualification will still depend on the result of other teams. With just three victories and seven defeats out of 10 games, they are placed at the ninth spot in the points table.

Notably, captain Hardik Pandya was not part of MI’s previous game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He was unavailable due to a back spasm. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav led the team and powered the side to a six-wicket win.

As the RCB vs MI clash is around the corner, many have been wondering about the availability of Pandya and Suryakumar for the clash.

Pandya is recovering from his back spasm and is doubtful to play in the clash against RCB. He has joined the MI squad in Raipur, but his participation will depend on the medical team’s decision.

Moreover, Suryakumar recently became a father and he was expected to miss the next game due to personal reasons. The MI management had left the decision with him on his availability for the RCB clash

Yadav has made himself available for the RCB vs MI clash on May 10, as per a report by Cricbuzz. He is expected to reach Raipur soon. If Pandya does not play in the encounter, Yadav will captain the side.  

Meanwhile, both Hardik and Suryakumar have struggled with their performances in IPL 2026. Yadav has scored 195 runs in 10 games at an average of 19.50, including one half-century. Pandya has piled up 146 runs in eight games and clinched four wickets.
