Suryakumar Yadav said that everyone is learning a lot of skills from Jasprit Bumrah.

Indian Cricket Team’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has heaped praise on pacer Jasprit Bumrah, saying that having an experienced player like him is always a good thing for the team. He also added that other bowlers learns a lot of skills, tricks and trade of the game from the senior pacer.

Jasprit Bumrah arguably has been one of the best pacers going around in the world cricket across formats. He was part of the recently-concluded T20I series against Australian Cricket Team, where he clinched three wickets in three innings at a brilliant economy of 6.58. With his economical spells, he helped the team to dominate Australian batters despite their home advantage.

With 99 wickets in 80 T20Is at an average of 18.11 and an economy of 6.36, the 31-year-old is second highest wicket-taker for India in the format after Arshdeep Singh (105).

Following India’s 2-1 victory against Australia, Suryakumar highlighted Bumrah’s influence on the bowling unit and how he acts like a mentor for other bowlers.

“From a bowling point of view as well, people are taking responsibility. Having an experienced bowler like [Jasprit] Bumrah around in the team and everyone chatting with him, learning a lot of skills, tricks and trade of the game, I think that’s a good thing. So there’s good friendship building up in that as well,” he said after the 5th T20I at The Gabba, Brisbane.

Yadav also said that India’s batting unit has been doing a commendable job over the last few months.

“From a batting point of view, definitely what we’ve been doing in the last six to eight months, I think we’re sticking to that, not changing anything. These guys are doing it really well. The way they bat at the top of the order puts a smile on everyone’s face when they’re batting together,” he said.

“So we are trying to get there. There’s never anything like all bases covered. We always learn from this game, every game we play. Yeah, till now things look good, touch wood, let’s continue that,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Suryakumar Yadav & Co. crushed Australia 2-1 in the five-match series, which witnessed two games getting washed out. The hosts won the second game by four wickets, but the visitors made a wonderful comeback by winning the third game by five wickets and the fourth clash by 48 runs.
