Huge blow for MI, Suryakumar Yadav to miss IPL 2024 match vs SRH - REPORTS

Suryakumar Yadav smashed 605 runs in 16 matches while playing for MI in the IPL 2023 season.
Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to miss the services of their ace batter Surakumar Yadav in the crucial encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match No. 8 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season on March 27, according to reports.
Suryakumar sustained an ankle injury during the three-match T20I series against South Africa last year. After this, the MI batter also underwent treatment for a sports hernia injury in Germany.
It seems like the Board of Control for Cricket in India is not taking any risk of rushing the MI star’s return to competitive cricket as part of the 33-year-old’s India plans for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
Surykumar Yadav yet to receive clearance from National Cricket Academy
Earlier reports indicated that Suryakumar Yadav, who is also known as SKY, would undergo a second fitness test on March 21 at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, the star batter didn’t get a green signal from the NCA as he missed MI’s opening match of IPL 2024 against last year’s runners-up, the Gujarat Titans.
According to the latest report by Sports Tak, the 33-year-old is yet to receive a fitness certificate from the NCA in Bengaluru. This also means that he will not be part of the MI squad for their upcoming second game in the IPL 2024 tournament against SRH at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on March 27.
