“Feels great to finally get to touch the trophy” - Suryakumar Yadav mocks Pakistan after winning T20I series against Australia

Suryakumar Yadav is yet to lose a bilateral series as India’s T20I captain.

Indian Cricket Team T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav came up with a hilarious statement after his side won the T20I series against the Australian Cricket Team. He mockingly said that he felt great to finally touch the trophy, hinting Asia Cup 2025 trophy saga. 

The Indian Cricket Team, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, defeated Australia by a margin of 2-1 to win the five-match T20I series. Although, the visitors weren’t at their best, they still managed to win, proving why they are the number-one-ranked T20I side in the world.

The series went in favour of India after the last game in Brisbane was washed out. After winning Asia Cup 2025, India didn’t get to touch the trophy but here they had their hands on the trophy, which was presented to Suryakumar Yadav in an indoor presentation.

While reacting to getting the trophy, Suryakumar Yadav said that he felt the silverware in his hands. He also added there was another trophy that was won back home, lauding the Indian Women’s Cricket Team for winning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Speaking to reporters after the series, he said:

“It feels great to finally get to touch the trophy. Felt it in my hands, when I was handed over the trophy for the series victory. A few days back another trophy arrived in India our women’s team has won the World Cup. That trophy has also arrived back home. It feels great and getting to touch this trophy as well feels good.”

Coming to Asia Cup 2025 trophy saga, Indian players refused to take the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, who is the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and also Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. He also happens to be a minister in Pakistan government. This didn’t go well Naqvi as he took away the trophy from the stadium, leaving the Indian side stranded. 

India are yet to receive the trophy but a meeting took place between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Indian body is confident that the trophy will be back soon as stated by secretary Devajit Saikia.
