BBL 1 (2011–12): Champions

The Sydney Sixers scripted history in the inaugural season of the Big Bash League. Facing the Perth Scorchers in the final at the WACA Ground, the Sixers chased down a target of 157 runs with authority. Openers Moises Henriques and Steve O’Keefe stitched together a commanding 110-run partnership, setting the foundation for victory. Steven Smith sealed the chase, making the Sixers the first-ever champions of the league.

BBL 4 (2014–15): Runners-up

In the BBL 2014–15 final, the Sydney Sixers once again reached the summit clash, this time under Moises Henriques’ captaincy. Batting first, the Sixers posted 147/5, with Henriques top-scoring with 77 runs. However, the Perth Scorchers chased down the target in the final over to secure a four-wicket win.

BBL 6 (2016–17): Runners-up

The BBL 6 final marked the third meeting between the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers in a final. Batting first, the Sixers struggled to build momentum and managed just 141 runs. Jhye Richardson’s three-wicket haul proved decisive. Michael Klinger’s unbeaten 71 then guided the Scorchers to a dominant nine-wicket victory.

BBL 9 (2019–20): Champions

After a long wait, the Sixers returned to winning ways in the BBL 9 final against the Melbourne Stars at the SCG. The rain-shortened 12-over contest saw the Sixers post 116/5, with Josh Philippe scoring a rapid 52. The Stars could only manage 97/6 in reply, thanks to tight bowling from Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon. The Sixers won by 19 runs to claim their second BBL title.

BBL 10 (2020–21): Champions

The Sixers became only the second team to win consecutive BBL titles after their triumph in the BBL 10 final. James Vince starred with a brilliant 95 off 60 balls as the Sixers posted 188/6 against the Perth Scorchers. Despite a fighting effort, the Scorchers fell short, and the Sixers won by 27 runs to secure their third championship.

BBL 11 (2021–22): Runners-up

In the BBL 11 final, the Sixers endured one of their toughest defeats. Chasing 171 against the Perth Scorchers, the Sixers were bowled out for just 92. Andrew Tye’s devastating spell led the Scorchers to a massive 79-run win.

BBL 13 (2023–24): Runners-up

The most recent final appearance came in BBL 13, where the Sixers faced the Brisbane Heat. After restricting the Heat to 166, the Sixers’ batting collapsed under pressure. Spencer Johnson’s four-wicket haul dismantled the Sixers for 112, handing Brisbane Heat their second title.
