ICC T20 World Cup 2024: South Africa unveil their kit for the tournament

South Africa will be captained by Aiden Markram in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has unveiled the Proteas Men’s playing kit for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in the West Indies and the USA from 1–29 June 2024. South Africa were the hosts of the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, but they are yet to win any ICC World Cup title.

South Africa are drawn in Group D with Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka, who they begin their campaign against on June 3 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The South African cricket team will then face the Netherlands and Bangladesh on June 8 and 10, respectively.

Their final group match against Nepal will take place in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on June 14.

South Africa have struggled in the T20 World Cup, never reaching the final. The team remained in contention until the final game of the previous tournament. However, they were eliminated from the competition in Australia after losing unexpectedly to Netherlands in the group stage.

South African players like Heinrich Klaasen, Tristan Stubbs, Kagiso Rabada, and Aiden Markram are in excellent form. The Proteas are optimistic of winning their first World Cup title in 2024. The players are now competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Cricket South Africa unveils new kit for national team

Cricket South Africa used X (previously known as Twitter) to reveal their national outfit for the upcoming ICC tournament. The new World Cup jersey was unveiled at The Wanderers during the CSA T20 challenge’s innings break.

South Africa’s jersey, released on Sunday, has a bright yellow base color. The national flag takes center stage on the shoulder, proudly showcasing the country’s colors. The King Protea, South Africa’s iconic national flower, is also prominently featured on the shirt, adding a bit of local flair.

South Africa are among the first to unveil their jersey for the ICC tournament scheduled for June this year.
