The Melbourne Cricket Ground is set to host another T20 World Cup final after previously staging the summit clash in the 2022 edition. England defeated Pakistan in that final to lift the trophy.
The MCG has a seating capacity of around 100,000 spectators and is one of the largest and famous cricket venues in the world. It has also hosted the finals of the 1992 and 2015 ODI World Cups, along with the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Adelaide Oval is set to miss out on hosting both the final and a semifinal. The venue had also hosted a semifinal between India and England during the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Australia and New Zealand are expected to share the hosting duties across eight cities.
