The latest AI-powered nostalgia trend has taken social media by storm, with users transforming modern photos into vintage-style images reminiscent of the 1980s. The trend has spread rapidly across India, with celebrities and public figures joining the craze.

Cricket fans have embraced the trend, and some of India’s biggest stars have also joined it ahead of the start of the India vs Afghanistan T20I series. The AI makeovers typically feature vintage uniforms, wooden bats, and old-school hairstyles.

India and Afghanistan will clash in a three-match T20I series, hosted by the ACB at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The first match will take place on September 13; two more matches will be played on September 15 and 17.

Before the first T20I, all the Indian players have arrived at the venue to prepare. However, off the field, Indian stars took part in a fun activity where AI depicted the players in a 1980s style.

Sanju Samson was one of the players featured in the video, and the wicket-keeper batter looked joyful while posing with his image. Jasprit Bumrah, one of India’s premier fast bowlers, was also given a vintage makeover.

Some images drew attention due to their striking difference from the players’ modern-day appearance. One belonged to young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while the other belonged to Indian all-rounder Axar Patel.

Players like Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Shivam Dube really liked their AI-generated avatars and were quite impressed with the looks created by AI. These fun moments came just two days before the start of the upcoming series against Afghanistan.
