IPL 2026: List of teams eliminated from playoffs race

The top four teams in the points table will qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2026.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is witnessing a battle among 10 teams for the title, and the race for the playoffs has become intense. As per the format, only the top four teams in the points table after the conclusion of the league stage will qualify for the playoffs.
The remaining six teams will be eliminated from the tournament. While the top two teams in the table will get two opportunities to reach the final, the 3rd and 4th-placed teams will have to win two consecutive games (Eliminator and Qualifier 2) to become the finalists. A few teams have been eliminated from the playoffs race and below are their names.
Teams eliminated from the playoffs race in IPL 2026
1. Lucknow Super Giants

The Rishabh Pant & Co. became the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs. On Sunday (May 10), Lucknow lost to Chennai Super Kings by five wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium, failing to defend their 203-run total.
The defeat pushed LSG out of the playoffs race. They have already lost eight games out of 11 and are placed in the last spot in the points table.
2. Mumbai Indians

The Hardik Pandya & Co. struggled to win games since the start despite having a star-studded squad. In a close-fought encounter against RCB on May 10, Mumbai Indians lost by two wickets.
They piled up 166/7 in the first innings and despite a brilliant bowling effort, they could not manage a victory. After the defeat, they became the second team to be eliminated from the playoffs of IPL 2026.
