Gautam Gambhir has been doing a great job as a coach of India.

Indian Cricket Team assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has revealed head coach Gautam Gambhir’s message to the players ahead of the clash against Pakistan. The sixth match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, which will see a clash between India and Pakistan, will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

The India vs Pakistan clash will be one of the exciting games in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. With tensions between the nations being very high, it is expected that it will be a high-octane clash, and the tempers between the players are likely to be raised as well.

After the Pahalgham terror attack and the Operation Sindoor, there were a lot of calls to boycott the India vs Pakistan clash. However, the Indian government clarified their stance on the same, saying that it won’t have bilateral ties with Pakistan, but games in multi-nation events will go ahead.

While talking about the tensions and the game against Pakistan, Ryan ten Doeschate said that it was frustrating for them to get clarity on the game. However, once they got the green signal, they tilted their focus on the game and prepared for it like other games. Speaking to reporters, he said:

“The waiting period of knowing whether this [Asia Cup] was going to happen was the most frustrating part,” he said. “Once we knew we were going to be here, and playing, we have tried to get on with the business of it. This game, particularly, we haven’t prepared differently, like I said, but we are obviously aware of the sentiments and strong feelings.”

Ten Doeschate also revealed Gautam Gambhir’s message to the team, saying that the head coach told the players not to worry about the things that are not in their control. He added:

“Gauti’s message has been sort of very professional about not worrying about things that are not in our control and being emotionless when approaching the cricket side of things. The guys are professional enough, I am sure.

“Individuals have different levels of feeling on the spectrum of where they feel the whole situation [geopolitical tensions] is, but the messaging has been to focus on the cricket, and try to focus on the one game tomorrow.”

India started their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on a high as they beat the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine wickets in their first game. On the other hand, Pakistan beat Oman by 93 runs.
