But some players like to perform when the stage is tough. Over the years, many big cricketers have played in the IPL, but only a few have scored 3000 or more runs. Notably, only 23 cricketers have scored more than 3000 runs in the league so far.
Virat Kohli has scored the most runs in the league’s history, but he is not among the fastest batters to reach the 3000-run mark. In this article, we will talk about the top five players to score 3000 runs in IPL history. There are only two Indian players in the top five. So let’s check it out.

5. David Warner – 94 innings

David Warner is among the best players in the modern era and has good numbers in all three formats. Similarly, he has had an incredible IPL career. He is the fifth fastest to 3000 runs, reaching the landmark in 94 innings. Warner has scored 6545 runs so far.
4. Shubman Gill – 94 innings

Shubman Gill has already achieved success in the initial stage of his career, both at the international and IPL levels. He has gotten off to a great start to his IPL career. Gill made his debut in 2018 and is still going strong. He reached 3000 runs in 94 innings. Gill has also scored 3 centuries and 19 half-centuries in his career already.
3. Jos Buttler – 85 Innings

English opener Jos Buttler is one of the best players in the shortest format of the game. He is one of the biggest names in the IPL as well, having made his debut in 2016. Buttler has six IPL centuries, and four of them came in 2022. Buttler completed 3000 runs in 85 innings and is the third fastest overall to reach the fear. He has so far scored 3366 runs at a strike rate of 147.50.
2. KL Rahul – 80 Innings

KL Rahul made his debut in 2013 and has played for four different franchises so far. However, Rahul has been the top scorer in the IPL since 2017. He has scored 600 or more runs in one season four times, which is the most by any batter. He completed 3000 runs in 80 innings and is the fastest Indian batter on this list. Rahul is also one of the fastest to 4000 IPL runs.
1. Chris Gayle – 75 Innings

There are not many batters who can come close to what Chris Gayle has achieved in T20 cricket. Whether it is the IPL, T20Is, or any tournament, Gayle has been a brute force to reckon with. He is the fastest to reach 3000 IPL runs and took only 75 innings to do so. Gayle played 142 matches and scored 4965 runs at 39.72 with a strike rate of 148.92. He has also scored six centuries and 31 half-centuries, with a best of 175 not out.
