Only one batsman under the age of 20 has hit a hundred in the IPL history.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the best platform for local and uncapped players to showcase their talents to the world. With the best players from across the world playing in the IPL, it gives the young stars the chance to improve their game. That’s why every IPL season introduces some brilliant young talents to the world.

But youngster grab such opportunities with both hands and make an even bigger impact. There have been many IPL hundreds in history. But some of these batters scored a century at a very young age. That will be the topic here. We will talk here about the top five youngest batters to score a century in the IPL

Here are the top five youngest centurions in the IPL

5. Sanju Samson – 22 years and 151 days

Sanju Samson is one of the most promising talents who came through the ranks by performing in the tournament’s history. He made his debut in 2013 for RR and has been part of the side since then barring two years in 2016 and 2017, when the franchise was suspended. He was part of Delhi in 2016 and 2017, and that was the time when he smashed his first IPL ton. He scored a 63-ball 102 against Rising Pune Supergiants in Pune in 2017 and helped his team win by 97 runs. Samson was 22 years and 151 days old during that knock.

4. Yashasvi Jaiswal – 21 years and 123 days

Yashasvi Jaiswal is an extraordinary talent who made his IPL debut in 2020 for RR. Since then, he has become a core member of the team. The Southpaw has already scored two centuries in his IPL career, and both of them came against Mumbai Indians. His first century came in 2023 at Wankhede Stadium. Jaiswal scored a blistering 62-ball 124, and RR made 212/7. But RR couldn’t defend the total, and MI won by scoring 214/4. However, Jaiswal won MOTM and scored a hundred at the age of 21 years and 123 days.

3. Devdutt Padikkal – 20 years and 289 days

Devdutt Padikkal is another talent who made a name for himself with a brilliant stint with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has scored one century, which came in 2021 against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, RR made 177/9, and RCB chased down the total in 16.3 overs without losing any wicket. Virat Kohli (72* off 47) and Paddikkal finished it for RCB. The left-hander scored an unbeaten 101 off 52 with 11 fours and 6 sixes at the age of 20 years and 289 days.

2. Rishabh Pant – 20 years and 218 days

Rishabh Pant joined the IPL as a teenager in 2016 and slowly made his name as an explosive wicket-keeper batter. Pant has scored one century in the IPL so far, which came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He scored an unbeaten 128 off 63 balls, with 15 fours and seven sixes, to help his team reach a score of 187/5. But they lost the game as SRH made 191/1 in 18.5 overs. Pant was only 20 years and 218 days old when he hit his first IPL century.

1. Manish Pandey – 19 years and 253 days

Brendon McCullum was the first batter to score an IPL century, and he did it in the very first game of the inaugural season. However, Manish Pandey was the first Indian batter to achieve this feat, and it came in 2009. He was a part of RCB and scored a 67-ball ton against Deccan Chargers in Centurion. He made 114* off 73, and RCB made 170/4. Then they restricted the opposition to 158/6, and won the game by 12 runs. Pandey was just 19 years and 253 days old at that time.
