Smriti Mandhana surpassed Suzie Bates to become batter most runs in Women’s T20I.

Women’s cricket is seeing several big records being broken as the T20 format continues to grow around the world. With major tournaments like the Women’s T20 World Cup and the Asian Games bringing the best teams together, the run-scoring charts have also seen some big names battle for the top spot.

India have been a major part of that story, with Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur among the most consistent batters in Women’s T20Is. Mandhana, in particular, has continued to add to her impressive record in the shortest format.

The Indian opener recently reached another major milestone during the Asian Games 2026 semifinal against Bangladesh. Mandhana scored 37 runs and surpasses New Zealand’s Suzie Bates and become the highest run-scorer in Women’s T20I history.

Earlier in September, she had also become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket across formats after going past Mithali Raj’s tally.
