India A, Afghanistan A, and Sri Lanka A are three teams part of the Tri-Nation A Series.

India A are participating in a Tri-Nation Series in Sri Lanka. India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A are three teams part of this tournament. The Tri-Nation A Series commenced on June 9 and will witness the final on June 21. The tournament will be played in the 50-over format.

A total of 7 matches will be played during the tournament, including the final; each team will face the other twice. Each team will be awarded two points for each victory, and the top two teams in the points table will qualify for the final. The team that finishes in third place will be eliminated from the tournament.

Tilak Varma, who was recently named as the Indian Cricket Team’s new vice-captain, is leading India A in the Tri-Series. A few national players and some stars who impressed in the Indian Premier League 2026 have earned spots in the campaign.

Indian players to watch out for in Tri-Nation A Series

5. Prabhsimran Singh

Although Prabhsimran Singh has not yet made his international debut, he has impressed with his performances over the last few IPL seasons.

The right-handed batsman ended as the leading run-scorer for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, smacking 510 runs in 13 innings at an average of 42.50.

Striking the ball at 168.87, the wicket-keeper batsman also hammered six half-centuries in the tournament. He is opening the batting for India in the Tri-Nation Series.

4. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Undoubtedly, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the biggest talk of the town in the Indian cricket fraternity at the moment. Playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, he finished as the leading run-scorer with 776 runs in 16 games.

Furthermore, the left-handed batsman also won the Orange Cap after finishing as the highest run-scorer in the league. He is the other opener for India A.

3. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to make a mark as CSK skipper in IPL 2026. At a poor average of 28, he scored 337 runs in 14 games with two half-centuries. However, the right-handed batter is looking forward to making a comeback by performing well in the Tri Series.

In the tournament opener against Sri Lanka, he slammed a century in the first innings to grab the spotlight of spectators.

2. Anshul Kamboj

Anshul Kamboj is another CSK player participating in this tournament. Despite CSK’s failure in IPL 2026, Kamboj emerged as a stand-out bowler. With 21 scalps, he was the leading wicket-taker for his team and the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

On a few occasions, he also wore the Purple Cap. Kamboj has already made his Test debut for India on the England tour last year.

1. Tilak Varma

Recently, Tilak Varma grabbed the headlines after being appointed as the new vice-captain in T20Is. He will take charge from the Ireland series later this month.

Ahead of the campaign, his leadership will be tested for India A, as he is all set to lead the side in the Tri-Series. The middle-order batter rocked with his performance in the opening game on June 9, hitting a half-century.
