Rohit Sharma added 101 runs for the opening wicket inside 9 overs with Ishan Kishan.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squared off in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This match was played on April 11, 2024, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

MI captain Hardik Pandya chose to bowl first after winning the toss because the pitch was jam-packed with runs. RCB lost several cheap wickets, including Virat Kohli (3), Will Jacks (8), and Glenn Maxwell (0).

For the visitors, Rajat Patidar and captain Faf du Plessis added 82 runs for the third wicket. Faf du Plessis (61 with four fours and three sixes) and Rajat Patidar (50 with four sixes and three fours) helped the RCB reclaim control of the game.

Dinesh Karthik went berserk against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, driving his team to a 196-run final score. The 38-year-old Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicket-keeper batter scored an unbeaten 53 off only 23 deliveries.

In reply, MI openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma took the RCB bowlers to the cleaners. Ishan Kishan led the way as he smacked 69 in 34 balls with 7 fours and 5 huge sixes. He added 101 runs for the first wicket with Rohit Sharma in just 8.5 overs. Kishan was dismissed by Akash Deep.

However, Rohit Sharma continued the assault as he was joined by Suryakumar Yadav at the crease. Rohit Sharma was on 38 in 24 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and was looking dangerous.

Will Jacks bowled a fuller delivery on Rohit Sharma’s legs in the 12th over and Rohit played a brilliant sweep shot. The ball flew to the short fine-leg area where Reece Topley was fielding. Topley flung himself to his good side, the left side, and plucked the ball out of thin air.
