'Take a bow,' Twitter showers love after Harshit Rana's last over heroics help KKR win their first match of IPL 2024

Harshit Rana registered match figures of 3/33 in four overs against SRH in match 3 of the IPL 2024.
It was a phenomenal performance from the young right-arm fast bowler Harshit Rana as he held his nerves and defended 13 runs in the final over to clinch the victory for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the third match of IPL 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on March 22.
KKR pacer Rana was handed over the responsibility to bowl the 20th over of the second innings, while SRH batter Heinrich Klaasen was looking to seal the game for his side. The SRH batter hammered a huge six-over backward square leg on the very first ball, and it looked like the game was over for the two-time champions, KKR.
However, Harshit came back stronger, conceded a single, and followed it up with the wicket of left-handed batter Shahbaz Ahmed, who tried to finish the match with a six but ended up getting caught by KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer at long-on.
Marco Jansen then came to the crease, and he took the single, getting the beast Klaasen back on strike. The next delivery was an off-cutter from KKR pacer Rana, and SRH batter Klaasen miscued his shot completely, and fielder Suyash Sharma, who was at short third, took a stunning catch and ended Klaasen’s innings, who smashed 63 runs.
With five runs needed on the last ball, new SRH skipper Pat Cummins was on strike. Rana once again bowled another slower delivery outside the off stump and Cummins was not able to make any contact as KKR clinched the victory by four runs. Twitterverse lauded Rana’s effort during the last over and heaped praise on him for his exposure.

Harshit Rana blows flying kiss to Mayank Agarwal during KKR vs SRH match
Coming to chase a challenging 209, Mayank Agarwal gave SRH a fiery start, having scored four fours and one six in his brisk 21-ball stay. However, Rana took the much-needed breakthrough, bowling a bouncer, which SRH opener failed to pull after attempting it. The ball went straight into the hands of Rinku Singh, who did not need to move an inch while fielding at deep square leg.
Following the dismissal, Rana blew a kiss to send off SRH opener and both of the players further had a stare down.
