India bundled out South Africa for just 55 runs in the first innings of the Cape Town test.

In a dramatic turnaround following their defeat in Centurion, team India showcased exceptional bowling skills on the opening day of the second test match against South Africa in Cape Town. Opting to bat first, Proteas were bundled out for 55 runs in just 23.2 overs.

India entered the second test with a point to prove after succumbing to innings defeat in the series opener. The bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, unleashed a relentless assault on South African batting line-up, picking wickets and never allowing the hosts to settle.

Proteas’ innings got off to a disastrous start as Aiden Markram fell prey to Mohammed Siraj early on, managing only 2 runs. Captain Dean Elgar followed suit, dismissed by Siraj for a mere four runs. The relentless pressure from Indian pace attack continued, with Siraj claiming a total of six wickets in the innings.

David Bedingham offered some resistance with a brief knock of 12 runs, but he too succumbed to Siraj’s brilliance. Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen contributed 15 and 0 runs, respectively. Mukesh Kumar also played a crucial role, claiming two wickets and providing vital support to the pace duo of Bumrah and Siraj.

Indian bowlers executed their plans with precision, exploiting the conditions and extracting movement from the pitch. Fans, experts and ex-cricketers took it twitter to congratulate India’s first day of play.
