Mayank Yadav won Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling figrues of 3/14 against RCB.

It was a memorable game for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) uncapped pacer Mayank Yadav, who rattled the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting line-up and silenced the roaring crowd with his fiery spell in the match 15 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2.

The right-arm fast bowler Yadav finished with figures of 3/14 in his quota of four overs. During his exceptional spell, he took the wickets of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green. The young LSG pacer also bagged his second three wicket haul in just his second IPL 2024 game.

His performance was so impressive that it caught the attention of cricket legends like Brett Lee and Dale Steyn, who praised the youngster for his raw pace and accuracy. His stunning spell helped LSG to win the match against RCB by 28 runs.

After winning Player of the Match award against RCB, Mayank Yadav reflected on his goals, and secret behind his pace. He also revealed his favourite wicket among the three RCB batters he dismissed on Tuesday.

“Feel really good, two Player of the Match awards in two matches. I am happier that we won both the matches. My goal is to play for the country. I feel this is just the start. I enjoyed Cameron Green’s wicket the most. There are a lot of factors to bowl quick – diet, sleep, training. I am focusing a lot on my diet and recovery – ice bath,” LSG pacer Mayank Yadav said after winning Player of the Match award.
