Punjab Kings were bowled out for 111 against KKR in the first innings.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a big batting collapse against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 31 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, April 15. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first in the clash at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh.

However, the home team could not handle KKR’s brutal bowling attack in the game. Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (30) gave a decent start to the team, but the rest of the batters collapsed. They lost their seven wickets for 80 runs on the scoreboard till the 11th over.

Key batters like Shreyas Iyer (0), Josh Inglis (2), Nehal Wadhera (10), and Glenn Maxwell (7) lost their wickets cheaply. KKR pacer Harshit Rana dismissed both PBKS openers as well as their No. 3 batter Iyer. Spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy also did a wonderful job in bowling, getting two scalps each in the match. In the end, the Kings were bundled out for just 111 runs in 15.3 overs.

Fans troll Punjab Kings with hilarious memes on X

IPL fans did not shy away from trolling Shreyas Iyer & Co. on social media after their batting collapse against KKR. They shared hilarious memes on X (formerly Twitter) to criticize PBKS batters. While some fans criticized Iyer’s poor captainship, some others trolled Maxwell for his batting struggles in IPL 2025. Have a look at some of the tweets below.

Notably, PBKS showed a completely different batting show in their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They had posted a gigantic total of 245/6 in the first innings. However, they still lost the game with a dismal bowling show as SRH’s Abhishek Sharma (141) powered the home side to an unbelievable victory with his impeccable century during the chase.

Before the ongoing clash against KKR, PBKS had won three games and lost two matches out of five. With six points, they take the sixth spot in the points table.
